01 Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, upload content, or contact us for support. This includes:
- Account data — name, email address, password (hashed), billing details, and organisation name.
- Content data — video files, presentation assets, metadata, chapters, subtitles, and audio tracks you upload to the platform.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, playback events, error logs, and session timestamps.
- Device & network data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs.
- Payment data — processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. We store only the last four digits and billing address; full card numbers are never stored on our servers.
We also collect data automatically when you interact with our player embed, APIs, or SDK integrations deployed on third-party sites.

- Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights and safety of s5.video, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with any merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, where we will notify you and ensure your data remains protected.
- With your consent — in any other circumstance, only with your explicit prior consent.
04 Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Uploaded video content is retained until you delete it from your account dashboard or request account termination. Certain metadata and billing records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with legal and tax obligations.
Anonymised, aggregated analytics data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely to improve our services.
